The steel channel is a subgroup of rolled steel products, which represents a U-shaped profile in the section. The range of channels, depending on the structure load and a number of other factors, is distinguished according to the brands of steel and standard sizes. The roll-formed channel is made in two ways: by cold bending (without heating and blanking) and by applying pressure at high temperature.
The material, which increases the strength of frames and structures, is of constant need with the development of construction. Once the humankind has learned to smelt iron, and the task of developing this material used in the future to strengthen the high-rise buildings has arisen, the hot-rolled steel channel capable of withstanding heavy loads better than ordinary sheet or a log has been invented.
